Hinrich Global Trade Scholarships

We are now calling for applications from citizens of Indoneisa, Philippines, India, Cambodia and Vietnam interested in pursuing postgraduate study on the one-year taught MA in International Journalism Studies (MA IJS) at Hong Kong Baptist University starting in September 2016.

Candidates should have a good first degree, good English (preferably with IELTS or TOEFL scores to prove it), a passion for writing and journalism, and a strong interest in trade and business.

The Hinrich Foundation ( provides a stipend that covers tuition fees, airfares to and from the home country, accommodation on campus, a monthly allowance and incidentals.

Merit-based scholarships

Merit-based scholarships are awarded to students who achieve outstanding academic results. The MA in IJS program is pleased to announce that a merit-based scholarship scheme has been finalized. 

The scholarships are given in three categories: the highest level is HK$20,000, the second level is HK$15,000, and the third level is HK$10,000, depending on the academic performance of individual student.

15% of all enrolled students for each intake will receive the scholarship.
